`Running Away’ is the new single from London electro-rock whizzkid, Space Cowboy, following January’s crossover hit, `My Egyptian Lover’, with teen minx Nadia Oh.
Having just licensed his `Digital Rock’ album for the world by US label giants Interscope; you could say life is pretty sweet for Space Cowboy aka Nick Dresti. Looking forward to the publishing rewards of having this single and his remix of Fergie’s `Glamorous’ (Billboard Club Play Chart No.1) both on America’s biggest TV show, Ugly Betty, Nick’s currently writing for Interscope’s priority artists, including beats and production for Snoop Dogg.
His remixes for Brazilian indie heroes CSS and goth-rocker Marilyn Manson (Space Cowboy’s remix of Heart Shaped Glasses is included on his new album, `Eat Me, Drink Me’) – yet further examples of how the Space Cowboy sound is bridging the gap between indie rock and the dancefloor, a trend that Nick has led but which has only gained column inches this year…
With Nick on vocals, and already showing signs of exceeding any of his previous hits, `Running Away’ is another genre-defying electronic assault set to propel him farther into the musical stratosphere, (this track reached No1 on the iTunes Electronic chart, and 79 on the main chart after the episode of Ugly Betty aired in the UK!). The track will be a highlight of his forthcoming live set at the legendary Fuji Rock – where in something of a first – Space Cowboy has been asked back for a second time to rock the Red Marquee tent on the Saturday night.
The video, produced by award winning 21 year old creative prodigy, Jam (James Sutton, also managed by Tiger Trax), is another highly individual and groundbreaking animated feast, and is already on numerous TV playlists including Fizz, Cube, DT, and many more.
With massive early support from the likes of Calvin Harris on Radio 1 (hailing the song as EMO-Electro!), MSTRKRFT and Eddy Temple-Morris, this is one to watch out for.
