With over 700 DJ’s and acts performing at 34 of Amsterdam’s finest venues, the twelfth edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event has broken all records. From 18th – 20th October Amsterdam became the `Capital of Dance’, attracting a festival audience of 72,000 and 1,800 key industry professionals to the sold out conference. Organiser Buma Cultuur has continued to develop the event each year and has once again succeeded in defending ADE’s title of Europe’s main electronic music conference and the world’s biggest club festival.
“Looking back at this edition of ADE I can proudly say that we witnessed the best edition so far. It really surprised me that this edition was so successful, you can plan for it, you can work hard for it, but when it becomes one of the most important conferences in the field, we can only be grateful for all the support we get!!!”, enthuses ADE General Manager Richard Zijlma.
Conference
Held in the centre of Amsterdam at the historic canal-side Felix Meritis building, the ADE brought together the worlds dance music industry. For three days key professionals were able to meet international business partners, introduce their business to an international audience and get in touch with new people, new music and new trends. With numerous networking and business lounges and a broad program of panels and keynotes, the ADE provides a platform for the electronic music industry worldwide. Highlights of the day program included; Music & Games round table with Steve Schnur (EA Games), Artist Debate with Arthur Baker, Judge Jules and Tom Novy, Dance4Life presents Well Done!!! with Chuck D (Public Enemy) Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten and the infamous Demolition panel hosted by Dave Clarke.
Festival
The Netherlands has given rise to some of the best known DJ’s and producers and for 3 nights you could see them all in one place, alongside the biggest international DJ’s/artists and the hottest new talent. This year’s club festival attracted an audience of 72,000 people and many parties were sold out with queues round the block.
