King Unique are currently running an exclusive remix competition in association with DJ Mag. Throwing open the vaults they’re offering everyone the chance to remix three classic tracks – “Sugarhigh”, “Hinode”, and “Dirty”. The winners’ remixes will be released as part of a special package on Curfew.
Open to all styles of music, the King Unique boys are encouraging breaks headz, dubstep lovers, d&b nuts, and house fans to get involved – the more diverse entries the better. They’ve been blown away by the resulting remixes so far, so much so that they’ve decided to extend the remix competition deadline to 12th August to give any late entrants a chance to impress them even more.
“We wanted to hear people do something a little bit unusual with the tracks and take them to a new place, and that’s just what people have done,” says Matt Thomas, “and we want to hear more!”
Parts for “Sugarhigh”, “Dirty”, “Hinode” are available free on request. Simply send an email to remix@kingunique.com to receive the parts and further details of the competition (where to deliver the mix etc). The winning tracks will be judged by King Unique themselves, and will be released on Curfew in the autumn. The competition deadline is 12th August. So get busy!
