Wild Rumpus – Rock The Joint

bb014_wildrumpus_for_webCOSMIC COUNTRY & PSYCHEDELIC BLUES WITH BEARDYMAN!

To mark the third release from Cosmo & Gary Lucas’ hugely acclaimed Wild Rumpus project, they’ve bagged a collaboration with vocal entertainer extraordinaire Beardyman – the result being the tripped out hoe-down that is ‘Rock The Joint’.

Wild Rumpus have been at the forefront of the cosmic tip since the reggae-dub-bliss out ‘Musical Blaze Up’ released in 2007 and the ensuing surf anthem ‘Purple Somersault’ which sent psychedelic taste buds sizzling alongside other acts such as Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, Time & Space Machine, Voice of the Seven Woods – and of course Goldfrapp. This new single ‘Rock The Joint’ takes the sound to another dimension. Once again – originality at its most outstanding.

Featured artist Beardyman is becoming more popular than Kate Moss’ phone number, from headlining stages at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Rise, Bestival and Bloom, he was recently nominated for a Digital Music Award (Best Urban Act, alongside MIA and Wiley) and took the roof off at the Roundhouse with three encores and a standing ovation. And all before he’s released a record.

Wild Rumpus is Colleen Murphy (Cosmo) and Gary Lucas. New Yorker Colleen has been pushing musical boundaries since her teens, from hosting her own radio show at high school to becoming a regular guest at David Mancuso’s infamous Loft parties. Cosmo’s mantra is that good music always lasts the test of time and her DJ skills can be heard on her Cosmodelica radio shows and a new Cosmodelica residency at the acclaimed Robert Johnson in Frankfurt.

Gary Lucas is widely considered to be the guitar world’s greatest living talent. Previously of Captain Beefheart, Gary is famed for his multi-faceted musical creativity, collaboration projects, film scores and his new band Gods & Monsters. As the co-writer of Jeff Buckley’s seminal ‘Grace’, Gary is no stranger to making hits, yet his passion for experimentation continues to make him one of music’s more interesting characters.

‘Rock The Joint’ features a remix by Reverso 68 and has already been given props by long-term fans Radio One’s Rob Da Bank and Lemon Jelly’s Fred Deaken.
