Having landed a remix deal with Universal Records (USA) earlier this year, Cardiff-based Audioplayerz have already proven themselves to be a vibrant and unique house music collective. Their hotly anticipated debut single, ‘Crazy’ with an outstanding vocal performance from the amazingly talented Welsh newcomer Sarah Brown is set to be the house anthem of 2009.
The Audioplayerz project came to fruition when Fabian Abeki, Emil Falek and Marcus Simpson, long time stalwarts of the Cardiff dance music scene decided to join forces to write and produce cutting edge music. The depth and variety of their musical backgrounds combined with a shared love of house music and many years of experience in the industry has helped them to bring an edgy yet accessible flavour to the scene.
The collaboration with vocalist Sarah Brown came about by chance explains Fabian: “I was looking for a vocalist for a recent track and on a night out in Bristol went to see the “I Luv Live†for MTV Base. I heard Sarah’s set, I knew instantly she would fit the bill perfectly for the house grooves Audioplayerz had been working on.â€
Now, with some outstanding feedback from a number of key players in the dance music scene including BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM under their belts, Audioplayerz and Sarah Brown are ready to really make an impression and make this release an essential part of every DJ’s record collection in 2009.
“We’ve been amazed by Sarah’s professionalism and vibrant nature and couldn’t believe she’d not recorded in a studio before this track†professes Marcus.
Sarah’s vocals on Crazy, partly inspired by Moloko, combine seamlessly with the commercial, funky house groove and a quintessential pumping beat to leave you breathless and wanting more.
“What is remarkable about Sarah is her unique ability to quite easily craft melodies and lyrics with a broad commercial appeal and then perform them in true house diva style†enthuses Emil.
With the imminent release of Sarah’s debut single – “Crazy†(16.03.2009) Audioplayerz and Sarah are already in the studio producing their follow-up single.
