The concept for Viva Music when Steve Lawler started it in 2006 was simple – set up a quality digital label with low running costs so the resources can actually be spent on developing artists and music that he truly believes in. Fast forward 3 years and Viva Music is one of the most thriving Record & digital labels in the electronic world, releasing material from exciting and innovative talent including Audiofly, Livio & Roby, Hugo, David Pher & Darius Syrossian and many more.
2009 is going to be an equally rousing year for Viva, already with VIVa MUSiC Party’s in London @ the Ministry Of Sound, both Krystal & Club Midi in Romania and next up, a party of monster proportions at the WMC as Viva Music goes head to head with Cadenza on Thursday 26th March, on the revered Space Terrace; playing alongside Steve will be Luciano, Timo Mass, Loco Dice, Tiefschwarz, Livio & Roby, Thomas Melchior, Bearweasel and Mirko Loko.
While the hotly anticipated ‘On the Bus’ Ep from Steve, Tiefschwarz and Audiofly (inspired by some heavy duty touring the trio did across the States in late 2008) will finally be released in May. March sees David Durango’s ‘Tierra Nueva’ and ‘Bubble World’ see the light of day as well as Android Cartel’s phenomenal 6 track ‘Cyber Psychosis Ep’ which includes ‘Robotic Redemption’ and ‘Cybernetic Cravings’. And with a further 2 releases a month Viva remains one of the most vital labels for everything electronica.
Recent offerings include Livio & Roby’s ‘Return of the Jack’ which received critical acclaim from Laurent Garnier and M.A.N.D.Y to Dragosh’s ‘Be Part of Me’ given props by everyone from Ricardo Villalobos, Josh Wink to Lucinao.
There are also a number of exciting Viva Music events happening globally this year, line ups to be announced.
