Carl Cox Drops It Old Skool For The Bestival Massive

There’s just four months to go until we unveil the full majesty of this year’s Bestival! With a brand new site layout and some absurdly groovy new attractions, Bestival HQ is a hive of furious activity, putting the finishing touches to another madcap marvel. Always endeavouring to create an incredible experience we have lined up two rather tasty exclusives that are guaranteed to rock the party!

First up, bona fide master of the ones and twos (and threes – he’s a three-deck wizard) Carl Cox will be stepping up to the turntables to throw down an awesome old skool set in the Big Top. 100% certain to whip any crowd into a giddy mess Carl was the first person to be crowned ‘Number 1 DJ In The World’ by DJ mag and his sets have never failed to tear it up, from Awesome 3 and King Bee to Shades of Rhythm and Shut Up & Dance, Carl will be dealing solely in classic dancefloor bombs in what will be a UK festival excusive.

And the exclusives don’t stop there. Last year’s Sunday night headliners Underworld had so much Bestival fun that they’re returning to Robin Hill Country Park for a world exclusive DJ set on the main stage, counting down to Kraftwerk’s Saturday night headline slot. It’s the first time Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have made manoeuvres on the wheels of steel together as Underworld at any festival worldwide, so make sure you don’t miss out.

From deep inside the Bestival bunker Rob da Bank says:

“Carl Cox and Underworld have both soundtracked my raving years and both have smashed it at Bestival before. I’m grinning like a fool at the prospect of Karl and Rick warming up the Bestival masses before Kraftwerk and Coxy tear the roof off the Big Top on Sunday night. I’ll make sure I’m not DJing at the same time as him this year!”

If that wasn’t enough, Bestival keep up the brill bookings with Mr Hudson and The Library, fresh from working on his album with Kanye West. Other ace new acts include the massively-tipped Paloma Faith, superb techno artist The Field, Richard Fearless from Death In Vegas’ new band Black Acid, Brooklyn’s finest Dirty Projectors, scary mutant beats man Drums Of Death (the debut of his new 3-piece live show), northern beat poet Skint And Demoralised, pumping breaks don Krafty Kuts, funky beatsmith Jaguar Skillz and The Heavenly Jukebox DJ wing of the much-loved indie label.

Last but by no means least is another dance music legend – Tom Middleton, who’ll be working his magic on the new Afterburner Stage straight after Kraftwerk. Who better than the man synonymous with deep groovesome aliases like Link, Global Communications, Jedi Nights and Cosmos to round off a dream sequence of electronic music pioneers, at what promises to be a golden festival moment for years to come.
