Simon Baker is a true future British electronic pioneer in the making, notching up a series of triumphant productions over recent years on labels such as Playhouse, Rekids, Get Physical, Cocoon and fronting his own Infant Records, an offshoot of the longstanding 2020 Vision.
A close friend of Geddes and the murmur label, this EP is a dazzling imprint of dancefloor captivating moments, some of the most original from this great musical talent.
The EP kicks off with ‘Moonblock’ and its bubbling abyss of cosmic sounds and tumbling basslines, before gliding swiftly into the more genteel ‘Dragsnap’. Layered with whistling melodies and creaking percussion, the ethnic atmosphere of ‘Dragsnap’ blazes with piano chords and choral cries that set this track alight.
Finally the digital only release, ‘Mamaia Highway’ stokes up the fire with a dose of peak-time action that Baker is renowned for.
Simon Baker has forthcoming remixes for Classic Records, Crazy P, Timo Mass and many more. Outside of the studio there are tours planned for North and South America as he continues to keep himself head and shoulders above the rest.
