We are so excited and happy to announce our new record WALLS will be released on April 26 in the US on Mom+Pop Music. Release dates for Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Canada will be announced shortly. Sit tight.

We recorded the album last summer in Vancouver with our friend Howard Redekopp. We wrote the songs before then…obviously. Some were written a while before, some a few weeks. Every song we decided to record became a tiny, helpless baby that we helped grow up/influence. I prefer not to see it as a parental thing but more as an older sibling. Some had terrible growing pains and at times looked like they were going to be ungrateful red-headed step children (both Damon and I are/were red heads and I am a step child). Others were low maintenance dream boats that fed themselves. I much preferred the later. Regardless, we have 12 new songs that we worked really hard on. On April 26th so you can hear them too.

A new record means a lot of new things. New songs, new artwork, new places to play, new merchandise and so on. The new art and merch is much more easy for me and Damon to judge because well…we didn’t do it! We got to work with some amazing artists this time around. We have some exciting pre-order packages available too including an An Horse pillowcase, a signed poster, an exclusive t-shirt, a cd and a lovely 180 gram vinyl. OHHHH! It’s just all too much. I need to have a lie down.

We have announced a handful of dates in the US and Germany and there are plenty more to come! We see all your tweets and facebook requests to play certain towns and countries. We will do our best so keep checking in.

Not only does the album feature a host of established stars – Robert Babicz, Quivver, King Unique, Christian Smith, Nick Warren, Digweed & Muir – it also showcases new and upcoming talent like Maetrik, Wiretappeur, Max Cooper, Wehbba, and more.

The strength of new international talent from the likes of Spain, Germany and Brazil, points to the huge global appeal of the Bedrock label, and a bright future for dance music. The high-ranking established artists are kept firmly on their toes by the new upcoming stars of the future.

Having created a stunning remix of Guy J’s ‘Esperanza’ on the recent ‘Structures’ album, the rising Spanish star, Sistema, has created an exclusive track for Bedrock 12. Krace Gelly is a suitably deep album opening, tech head-nodder with plenty of twists and turns to keep things very interesting indeed, and a teasing taster for a debut Bedrock EP planned for 2011. Sistema is the latest incarnation of Manuel Ruiz, the maverick Barcelona-born producer who in the last ten years has been producing and recording under such monikers as Neue Lärmklassiker, Medio Escinico and 100.cia.

Anyone who has heard the stunning low-slung, seriously heavy-duty groove that Maetrik created on his remix of John Digweed & Nick Muir’s latest single Satellite will be thrilled to know that this Valencia based artist is present and correct here on Bedrock 12 with, not only a bonus exclusive unreleased funky remix of the same single, but also a deeply energetic & invigorating debut track of his own in Glob Monster. Once again, Maetrik shows exactly why he’s such an exciting prospect and is making incredible leaps and bounds, creating some of the most devastating and unique music right now with his blend of techno, house, funk, and electro.

Wiretappeur is a production partnership between Florian Kruse, Nils Nurnberg and Stel. Their two versions of Too Much Space on Bedrock 12 show off their deep understanding of the power of melody, and are superb fresh and innovative deep house with a chilled, lush electronic reprise. Their productions have already earned them heartfelt praise and support from many of their peers as well as a wide variety of the industry’s top DJs, including Steve Bug, Luciano and Josh Wink. Their My Real Name Is track and remix of Dirty Mongrel were a standout tracks on Structures. A mark of how highly they are regarded is that they will be remixing the next Digweed and Muir single on Bedrock.

The Hamburg club scene is ably represented by Epic, a stylish collaboration between Vincenzo & Lovebirds. Vincenzo was originally spotted and guided by Steve Bug, released his debut LP on the Dessous label and is now an internationally respected producer. Lovebirds is the solo project of Sebastian ‘Basti’ Doering, also well known as Knee Deep. Together, Vincenzo and Basti have created a lush piano laden deep house track for Bedrock 12 and the title says it all. Watch out for a new EP at the end of 2010.

He says it’s an attempt to distil emotion into sound. Max Cooper’s techno ranges from stark electronica remixes of huge bands like Hot Chip and Au Revoir Simone to the fuzzy, buzzing dancefloor sound of his breakthrough Serie releases. His Bedrock debut, Ediolic Spectra, is another step towards perfecting his unique take on electronica, and results from John Digweed playing lots of Max’s productions in his sets. The big man is mighty impressed with this rising producer.

The classic Rumblefish by Tone Depth (aka Canadian Tony Papadopoulos) originally appeared on the Bedrock label as a 12” release in April 2002 (Bed31). Having been championed by Hernan Cattaneo, this Diyo remix was included in the mix on his last Renaissance album. Diyo’s combination of melodies, atmospheric sounds, and subtle grooves continues to impress whenever played out, and is included here as a full track for the first time.

Hailing from Brazil, Wehbba made a big impression with his remix of Christian Smith’s Flyertalk on Structures, and this dentist graduate, licensed diver and Jiu Jitsu fighter is in fine form again with Mammut, his debut track on Bedrock.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s Reflections single on Bedrock, was an anthem of the highest order, so it’s with great excitement that he returns with Involve. A sizzling techno masterpiece from one of the hottest artists on the scene today, shows exactly why the biggest DJ’s on the planet rate this man so highly. Involve takes things to the next level.

Luis Junior (real name, Luis Vaquero Garcia) is a well-known producer, club DJ and radio DJ from the new Spanish electronic music scene, and is becoming a regular on Bedrock. His Colache EP and BG have already been on many people’s favourites lists this year, and his deeply hypnotic electronic re-work of Misstress Barbara’s Azzuri (a classic taken from the Bedrock vaults) is set to follow suit.

With a music career already spanning nearly two decades, comprising five albums and multiple singles, some could think that Robert Babicz would be ready to settle down for a quiet life, however, nothing could be further from the truth. He continues to reveal his talent and skill as one of Europe’s most essential techno producers with his first release on a UK label since November 1990! Welcome To The 90’s is yet another stunning creation from this hero to many.

Quivver is world-renowned DJ/producer/songwriter John Graham. While his recording and remix discography speaks for itself, John’s music has become a vital ingredient in the best DJ sets around the globe. His recent Bedrock single release – Yeah Yeah / Boom Boom / In Your Boat – has been a firm favourite with everyone, so its no wonder that the two versions of his latest track, Orgazoid, are featured here on Bedrock 12.

Another Bedrock 12 landmark is the first time King Unique & Anthony Pappa have worked together in the studio. Vamoosh is a suitably dynamic dancefloor devastator from this UK – Australian tag team. Have they really never worked together before? A marriage made in heaven, surely? Matt Thomas has also created another trademark scorcher with Spikes that will keep fans of his huge 2000000 Suns single very happy indeed.

Structures featured a top-notch big room makeover of Digweed & Muir’s Satellite from Tronic main man, Christian Smith, and the big room vibes are most definitely flowing once again through his two versions of System Of Survival here on Bedrock 12, as he weaves and winds together his trademark genre blurring wonder. Mr Smith has been championing his essentially funky mix of house and techno for more than a decade now, creating a highly individual cauldron of chunky grooves with loads of energy. With his own Tronic label releasing some fine fare right now, its no wonder that he was feeling inspired to deliver this superb exclusive for Bedrock.

Nick Warren is a man who needs no introduction to any self-respecting music fan. CD1 draws to a close with an exclusive ambient mix of In Search Of Silver. Which is a taster of high highly anticipated forthcoming single release on Bedrock this autumn.

Between them, John Digweed and Nick Muir, producers of the finest electronic dance music, have been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of club music and have in many ways helped to define genres & push the boundaries further over the years. As with all their releases, Bilder and Nick’s solo track Burkina Faso here on Bedrock 12, are mission statements to show that they are not resting on past laurels but always developing their sound in an exciting direction.

Of course, there is nothing ‘simple’ about this record, far from it; it’s brilliant, and as with everything the Frenchman does, comes with a jaw dropping video.

Let’s not forget Martin’s last release – the very lush and very pop ‘Boys & Girls’, a track that clocked up over 2 million hits on Youtube and brought to an end the ‘C’est La Vie’ chapter of his award winning career. Set amongst the media furore of The Roland Garros French Tennis Open, ‘Hello’ follows the story of a DJ who is in training because it takes “a lot of skill and a lot of energy to become a DJ”. Spurred on by the off-the-wall plots of his manager, French DJ Gregory Darsa, Martin finds himself unwittingly staged on centre court for the match of his life against Bob Sinclar. Sinclar is a seasoned pro, and Martin’s inexperience on the court shows – that is, until the love of his life shows up. But things of course don’t always run so smoothly… all’s fair in love and war, right?

The new single, with its huge crossover appeal and popular structure, is firm evidence of Martin’s musical prowess, unstoppable energy and strong sense of humour as he delivers a shot of cynicism and good-hearted humour into the arm of pop music. This highly improbable match was shot on location in front of 12,000 spectators, the day before the beginning of the competition thanks to the exceptional kindness of the Roland Garros’ management. The extravagant duel was punctuated with unexpected but welcome interventions from real international tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Gaël Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, Mathilde Johansson and hosted by Nelson Montfort.

“Last year’s daytime program turned out to be a great success. The Festival cinema, a hand full of theatrical spectacles, and the concerts held by day went a long way in proving that Audioriver can be just as interesting in broad day light as it can be after dusk. Consequently, we pretty much jumped at the idea to take things to another level ”, says Audioriver spokesperson Lukasz Napora.

So what’s exactly behind the name itself? Well, it derives from the fact that the Independent Market will be located – surprise, surprise – in Plock picturesque Old Market Square, where Polish record labels, promoters, booking agencies and media outlets will have the opportunity to set up their own stands and show the whole scene exactly what they are about. Furthermore, each of the handpicked companies will also be allocated an hour of the daytime musical program.

“We expect the labels participating in this bold new venture to provide all interested parties with a thorough presentation of their music at their respective stands, along with interesting concerts and DJ sets. Booking agencies, too, will more than likely have no problem with providing a plethora of interesting music. On the other hand, festival organizers, event promoters and club owners will have the perfect opportunity to make the best of pushing their upcoming projects. The Independent Market, first and foremost, is intended to be a place where everyone can have a shot at reaching the Audioriver faithful. Not everyone who comes to Plock is in the loop about what’s happening in the Polish scene or regularly mingles with the who’s who of our scene, so this will be the perfect opportunity for such people to get the low down about what exactly is happening”, says Napora.

What’s more, the general public will also get the chance to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy workshops conducted by some of the festival’s headliners associated with this international project. Apart from the two week annual session held in a select city, the Red Bull Music Academy also encompasses traveling workshops, lectures, festivals and special info sessions held all over the world. The names of the international acts that will be taking part in the workshops in Plock will be announced soon.

Admission to the trade fair and workshops will be free of charge. The fifth edition of Audioriver Festival will take place on 6th-8th of August, 2010.

Previously: It has been almost 3 years since Markus Schulz rocked the electronic dance planet to its core with ‘Progression’ – his critically-acclaimed sophomore album. Since its 2007 release he has smashed countless clubs with his kinetic, captivating DJ sets (breaking into the world’s top 10 ranks in the process), examined the musical make-up of cities with his compilation series and explored his darker, housier side with Dakota.

Now, in mid-2010, after 18 months of studio production sessions and an unrelenting pursuit of the perfect ‘Progression’ follow-up, he returns with ‘Do You Dream?’

Since the earliest days of his Coldharbour label, fans and critics alike have seen Schulz as both the leading-light pioneer and ultimate standard-bearer of trance’s new wave. The album instantly absorbs the listener back into that world, delivering a masterful start-to-finish audio experience.

Inducing the trancelike condition Markus wanted to stimulate for the album, D.Y.D. overtures with the beatless shimmered finery of ‘Alpha State’ (the phase the brain enters in order to dream). From that start-point it charts a tightly-plotted and uniquely Schulz course, embracing housey percussion, swirling atmospheric prog, drum & bass-ish b-lines, stunningly-cultivated vibrant trance riffs and a myriad of other sounds, effects and minutiae styles.

Vocals form just as much of a key constituent to Markus’ music as ever… Sir Adrian – who was first introduced to the electronic dance world when he lent the massive Schulz-created mash-up ‘The

Perspective Space’ its vocal – is back to bestow ‘Away’ with addictive, hook-laden lyrics & vocals. Once heard, near impossible to forget, the production’s deeper, techier tangent continues paving the album multifarious feel.

During ‘Do You Dream’s production, Markus spent many in-studio and on-flight hours listening through show-reels to find the right singers to balance the production tracks. In two key cases though, they were camped out remarkably close to home. Showing a diverse, adaptable range, Khaz (who first appeared on the radar in early-2009 as a Coldharbour artist) positively blazes on two of its tracks. Bringing (the most recent single) ‘Dark Heart Waiting’ a transfixing, uplifting edge, he also radiates the poignancy of ‘Last Man Standing’s slow-motion, piano-tinged drama. Likewise Angelique Bergere was discovered in home-base Miami and makes her EDM debut on the chilled, echoing serenity to ‘Lightwave’ and adds mesmerizing pathos to ‘Lifted’.

Elsewhere at the female end, the multitalented all-singing, all-spinning Jennifer Rene imbues ‘Not The Same’ with its melancholic, yet subtly purposeful vocal tone. Backed by a Schulz’s star-gazing soundscape, Dutch singer Ana Criado adds yet more celestial transcendence to ‘Surreal’. Whilst on ‘Unsaid’, Susana (who broke through vocalling Coldharbour release ‘Nothing At All’) creates one of the most vocally uplifting (not to mention infectiously catchy) moments on the album.

If indeed they are needed, those seeking instant jump-in/recognition points for the album won’t have to look or listen far. Released over the last 12 months, the singles ‘The New World’ and title track ‘Do You Dream?’ have had nitrous-injection-like impacts on Schulz’s career, mushrooming the fan-base further and have acted as anticipation-level igniters for the long-player itself.

The same can very much be said for ‘Perception – a track that to the card-carrying Schulz fans needs little in the way of introduction to… In its original Cass & Slide version, it’s a tune he turned into his Gallery residency anthem, and one whose impact on him that stretches as far back as his days as a clubber on the floors of Turnmills. Having his own version to spin has been on his mind ever since it became a standout moment (and a talking point) of his 2008 Essential Mix. To do it justice he enlisted one of the scene’s greatest vocalists, Justine Suissa who delivers a perfectly judged, dazzlingly-executed vocal performance to set off Markus’ ‘Perception’ remap.

Bringing ‘Do You Dream’ to both its creative and very real climax is the only collaboration on the album. Markus’ and Max Graham had long discussed teaming up in the studio… When the time came they drafted in Texan singer/songwriter Jessica Riddle (whose ‘I Know You’re Gone’ previously featured on his Miami ’05 compilation) for the fittingly-titled album closer, ‘Goodbye’.

Those looking for real range in an electronic dance album will find that, from the ultra-chilled beat-free transcendence of ‘Lightwave’ to all-consuming, speaker-pounding ’65.4hz’, D.Y.D. has each and every angle covered. It’s a sixteen-strong, padding-free artist long-player that will, once again, underscore Schulz’s position as one of the foremost trance province producers.

It’s out on the 12th of June 2010 through Armada Music.

Everyone who has ever taken an Ibiza-bound flight has been influenced and inspired in some way by the island. Few though have felt its magnetic pull to quite the same degree as Shah. Musically every move he’s made in the last 5 years has stemmed from his attachment to the great White Isle and his expedition to capture musically as much of its essence as possible continues with his new compilation album.

Vol. 3 again brings 160 minutes of previously unheard music, all entirely exclusive to the album. Mixed together in super-immersive fashion by Roger, each disc moves through a sound arc, from the daytime trappings of sun, beach and bar, and on (with perfect tone & tempo progression) into the night… and into the clubs.

Magic Island aficionados will know that Shah uses these albums as the first listen-in points for the tracks he’ll be using as his prime dance-floor rockers during his round-the-world-and-back summer season.

Following the runaway success of his ‘Lost’ track, Roger has re-teamed with Zara Taylor to deliver ‘Found’ – its beatific, luminous sequel. To the doubtless delight of fans (‘Lost’ was after all the no.1 track on the no.1 trance radio show in 2008) ‘Found’ will become the first track to spin off as a single from the album. Also on the re-collaboration tip, Roger has made a speedy return to the studio with Signum’s Ronald Hagen. After their Beatport chart-busting ‘Healesville Sanctuary’, the pair are back with another well-primed piece of floor-artillery in the shape of ‘Ancient World’. Another of Roger’s most renowned pseudonyms kicks off MI:3 second disc. Co-crewed by Ralph ‘Fridge’ Fritsch, Black Pearl sets sail again (following up ‘Bounty Island’, ‘Coral Sea’ and ‘Java’) with the mellifluous, halcyon ‘Discovery’. Already the subject of fairly intense fan speculation (with Roger using the track to open his ASOT450 set in NYC), it was met by a flurry of ID request..

On the compilation Roger is also exploring new collaboration routes. ‘Eden’ is his debut team-up with Dutch DJ & producer Leon Bolier and the latter’s ‘trance with twist’ effect can clearly be heard on the moody atmosphere-laden number. At the opposite end of the scale ‘Lay Down’ (don’t let the title fool you!) is a peak-time vocal number with Ross Lara on co-production duties and Todd Wright on vocals.

The album also contains a number of solo outings from Roger; included among them are ‘Over and Over’ which on-the-ball fans will recognize from his Songbook long-player. Roger has given the Nadja Nooijen sung track a more club-energizing feel on his 2010 remix and it will quickly follow ‘Found’ out of the gate as a single. This summer Roger will undertake his first ever solo show, which will take place on ‘Guaba Beach in Cyprus. ‘Guaba Beach’ the track will naturally enough become the anthem for the event!

Aside from all Shah-fired audio attractions there are also white-hot new tracks spread across the melodic-thru-euphoric trance range to look out for from young guns like Nuera, Walsh & Mcauley, Pedro del Mar & The Ridgewalkers, Semantica, Dimension… the list goes on.

The Magic Island albums are a million light years away from the typical throwaway Ibiza compilation that haunts download stores and CD racks come summer. Each one is every inch a serious endeavour by Roger to capture the spirit and quintessence of the island through exclusive, relatable quality music. They are now becoming the last box-ticks on the to-do list of clued-up clubbers & beach lovers from around the world before they jump onboard airplanes and head Evissa-bound. Pt 3 should prove no different.
