Over the course of a decade and more than 100 releases, VANDIT Records has become a landmark imprint.

This summer, that milestone will be aptly celebrated with the 3 CD release, ’10 Years of VANDIT’. Mixed by Paul van Dyk – both the label’s original mastermind and prime mover – it will document the tracks that have helped make the label a part of trance music’s bedrock. The discs will cover the label’s most influential output from 2000 to 2010, with the latter featuring a new Paul van Dyk single, created specifically to mark the anniversary.

VANDIT are also looking to EDM fans themselves to choose their own highlights. In April they will launch a special online event where label devotees can select their top 10 all-time favourites from the catalogue, these will then be compiled into a consummate ’10 Years Of…’ Top 10 chart. Every voter has the chance to preview the new PvD single at this very early stage and one lucky participant will also win a highly desirable (and completely unique) VANDIT competition prize.

These events will beat the drum for what will be a VANDIT-dominated spring & summer clubbing season; a series of electrifying parties that will roll out across mainland Europe, the Balearics & the US. In March, Paul kicked off the celebrations with a pair of 10 Years events at the Miami Winter Music Conference. On the 26th and 27th of March he brought VANDIT’s key artists to Miami to play 2 consecutive nights at Club Space. This summer, to mark the release of the of the album itself, there will be another deuce of events with Paul playing a hometown Berlin gig on the 29th May followed by London’s Brixton Academy on 30th May. All his Cream Ibiza nights will also come under the same banner, and saving the biggest till last, he will host a colossal night at Berlin’s O2 Arena in September 2010.

For tickets to the Brixton, London gig click here.

THE CHANCE OF A LIFETIME!

ENTER OUR CONTEST TO BE THE OPENING DJ AT ONE OF PAUL VAN DYK’S “10 YEARS OF VANDIT RECORDS” CELEBRATION PARTIES IN BERLIN AND BRIXTON, LONDON.

Over the last year, when briefcase-clad suits made their way to work near Old Street on Mondays, they unknowingly walked over a banging club tucked deep underground, chock-full of fashionable club goers still wildly clinging on to the weekend. Sunday nights (and Monday mornings, consequently) in London have been irrevocably changed since September 2007, thanks to the notorious, unstoppable Wetyourself crew (named – among other obvious reasons – in relation to the venue for their nights, Club Aquarium, equipped with a pool). Fuelled by their joint desire to bring serious dancefloor hedonism to Sunday nights, yet presenting quality music in an unpretentious way, it’s little wonder that WYS is one of the most loved hot spots on the London circuit.

The artistic trio behind the phenomenon – DJs, promoters and producers Jacob Husley, Peter Pixzel and Cormac – consistently smash Sundays by booking stand out DJs from the local scene, alongside techno, house and electro luminaries from around the globe. The seemingly unending list of DJs that have performed at their cult-followed night is staggering, a veritable who’s-who of dance music: Hannah Holland, Skull Juice, Zombie Disco Squad, Sweat X, Pig & Dan, Miss Kittin, Ellen Allien, The Hacker, Mr Oizo, Sascha Funke, John Acquaviva, Matt Walsh, Rex The Dog, Severino and Tim Paris, to name but a few.

The secret behind WYS’ vibrant success lies in its strong alliance: Cormac, Peter Pixzel and Jacob Husley are each as powerful on their own as they are synergistically…

Jacob Husley: Jacob Trier aka Jacob Husley started his Djing career in 1997 in Denmark, moving to London three years later. Beyond WYS, Husley’s takeover of London nightlife has been vast as a promoter: appointed resident, booker and promoter of Brick Lane’s 1001 in 2004; securing a monthly home at the Rhythm Factory for his party brand TEMBA (Techno-Electro-Minimal-Breaks-Acid) from ’05 until now; becoming booker and resident DJ of The Egg’s ‘Always Fridays’ – now one of London’s biggest Friday nights out in London. Musically, his production partnership with August Jakobsen under the alias Nocturnals led to countless performances at esteemed venues and festival stages around the world, and an EP on Eye Records. 2006 saw their newly-formed Husley & Gunz project (now signed to Rui Da Silva’s Sixty Four Records) rise up with their ‘Sonance’ EP in Oct 06. Most recently, Husley & Gunz have released 3 EP’s on Kismet Records and are due to release their first full-length album by the end of the year.

Cormac: Ever escalating forward, Cormac’s sets have seen him help mould underground London into the soundscape it resembles today. Dates in Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Israel and Europe have meant that Cormac’s been keeping busy, bringing his unique artistic talent of mixing and music to the rest of the world. One half of underground music melody makers Cavalier, Cormac and Peter Pixzel combined their efforts to make the sinister electronic lullaby soundtrack for workday-rebelling Londoners. His recent remixes of One Little Indian artist HK119′s ‘C’est La Vie’ single have caused a big stir amongst the scene.

Peter Pixzel: Described as a “One Man Rave,” the Copenhagen-born, London-based DJ/producer has been trotting global dancefloors (from Berlin to Tokyo to Milan) for the better part of a decade, making wondrous music every step of the way. Signed to KISMET Records, home of his imaginative remixes and ‘SynthReich’ EP, Peter Pixzel is a prolific producer to keep an eye on, and a brilliantly unpredictable DJ for your head, ears and feet. With beginnings as a house DJ back in 1998 (as resident of Copenhagen’s Mantra nightclub, run by the boss of the legendary Multiplex Records), in-between a myriad of lively gigs Pixzel is currently a resident for both TEMBA and Always Fridays.

Starting on Sunday 8 February, Wetyourself will be making the move to our very own Room One at fabric, as part of our new Sunday night project. Bringing an eclectic mix of bass heavy electro, minimal and maximal techno, disco and house, fabric on Sundays will soon be brimming with fashion muses, instigators and colourful “in the know” club kids, all mixing comfortably with forward-thinking music aficionados. Kicking off with a riotous and rather fitting appearance from Miss Kittin, on 8 February Wetyourself and fabric unleash a thrilling partnership, brimming with possibilities… but it does come with a warning: Monday mornings will never be the same.

“Following on from her now legendary set last year, it is perfect that we welcome back Miss Kittin to set us sail on our new disco journey. Wetyourself will be keeping its special intimate Sunday night vibe and will be bringing you super star high calibre DJs each and every week…we are very excited to be working with the fabric crew and have a simply stellar 2009 lineup planned, combining some of the more magical headliners of WYS’ past, alongside some incredible new talent. Come and experience fabric as you never have before in its new WYS late night, underground guise.” – Wetyourself

15 FEBRUARY
Marc Houle (M_nus), Jacob Husley, Peter Pixzel, Cormac

22 FEBRUARY

This year Creamfields celebrated its tenth anniversary by putting together a sterling line up that saw 65,000 clubbers across 2 days come and experience the ultimate in world class electronic music!

Creamfields now takes its first steps into the next decade by inviting everyone to create their very own fantasy festival line up, which will then be used to assist in the creation of the final line up for the Creamfields bank holiday weekend in 2009.

Since 1998, the festival has thrived on delivering the best world class talent, whether they are ground breaking artists/DJs/MCs or legends within their own rights. With names such as Run DMC, The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Prodigy, Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada, Kasabian, Faithless, Chic, Massive Attack, Underworld, Daft Punk, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto all gracing the festivals fields it is no wonder that people travel from all around the world to experience the festival.

To stay at the forefront of the electronic music scene Creamfields understands the importance of delivering exactly what the customers want and with that in mind, has created a process that allows the Creamfields disciples a chance to sit in the Directors chair and decide exactly what DJ will be spinning the decks in the Cream Arena, and what performers will be shouting over the mic “Creamfields 2009, make some noise”.

The survey takes you through each stage of the festival, from the headline slot on the Main Stage to the warm up DJ in the House Arena, and every single entry will be studied by the team that produce the penultimate billing that will be seen splashed across every poster, flyer & booklet.

It not only gives the fans a chance to speak up and get involved but in the process they are in with the chance of winning a money can’t buy prize, by means of a thank you for your time.

The prize includes:-

•	2 VIP camping tickets to Creamfields 2009
•	A selection of Cream’s compilation back catalogue
•	Signed merchandise from an array of artistes
•	Creamfields Goodybag of merchandise
•	An invite to the Creamfields launch party
•	A pair of tickets to each of Cream’s shows held at Nation in 2009

To create your own Creamfields line up and be in with the chance of winning the money can’t buy prize visit – www.mycreamfields.com

The survey will close on the 12th December 2008.

The time has come for the most opulent party in Ibiza to open its doors for the summer… Pure Pacha’s legendary 18 week stint starts with their opening on the 30th May 2008. Having built a reputation for bringing together musical quality, great parties and like minded people – Pure Pacha promises to deliver a night you will not forget.

With Pete Tong moving on to pastures new, Pure Pacha has taken a creative route for 2008 with a forward thinking mixture of established and emerging talent. Confirmed guests include; Basement Jaxx, Faithless and Fedde Le Grand who are monthly residents; plus Paul Oakenfold, Trentemoller and other talent to be announced soon. Expect to see spectacular live performances too – so watch this space!

DJ / VJ extraordinaire Sander Kleinenberg and Swedish legend Axwell take over the coveted roles of Pure Pacha residents for the summer.

Sander has been on tour for the past year playing some if the best sets of his career coupled with amazing visuals; courtesy of the new Pioneer audio visual mixer that he has helped develop. Pioneer will be joining Sander this summer to showcase cutting edge visual delights using their revolutionary dvj’ing technology. You will not see a show like this anywhere else on the island!

“Pacha is a club with such a legacy and historically, Friday is their busiest evening.” says Sander “It’s a great showroom to be DJ’ing in a place where people come to celebrate. I’m very honoured.”

As one of the leading figures in dance music today, you will be hard pushed to find a DJ who does not have an Axwell track or remix in their record box. A DJ who has found the perfect balance of blending underground house with accessible sounds and an energy that infects every dance floor.

Joining Axwell will be fellow Swedes Steve Angello & Sebastien Ingrosso – these guys are truly unstoppable right now, having whipped up a worldwide frenzy with their unique style of play. Pure Pacha will also be doing its bit in breaking new talent with 4 exclusive live shows by South African duo Goldfish… remember, you saw them here first! Pacha London, Brazil & Barcelona will also be hosting parties.

Celebrating 10 years of The Lick, Trevor Nelson joins Pure Pacha this year for the first time… A pioneer of the UK urban music scene, Trevor has traditionally hosted the Global Room on a Saturday but this year was invited to make the move to Pure Pacha. Trevor will be in charge of providing the Pacha glitterati with a soundtrack of smooth grooves, soul, funk and upfront R & B. He will also be joined by Maxi Jazz of Faithless, exclusively for four dates throughout the summer.

We asked head honcho Danny Whittle who he was most looking to forward to seeing this year, his answer was simple… “To be honest all of them!” Where will you be partying this summer?

Genre defining Drum & Bass legends, Roni Size (Reprazent) hit the headlines in 1997 when his Mercury Music Award-winning album, New Forms, threw him into the spotlight crowning him as one of the UK’s jungle sound pioneers. With the beats that defined a generation, Roni Size and Reprazent’s live bass lines will leave the midlands shaking to jungle until the early hours with their full 7 piece live band!

BACARDI B-LIVE will feature a unique line up of world famous DJs including BBC Radio 1 Mash Up legend Annie Mac, one of Britain’s scouts for underground electronic music, labelled ‘Champion Of New Music’ by The Sun, renowned for her eclectic musical taste and hunger for fresh beats. Duo The Plump DJ’s production talents have left an echo of ferocity in the Nu-Skool Breaks genre and are expected to take the B-LIVE area by storm.

Representing in one of the five unique arenas will be twisted house’s pioneer Steve Lawler who started out rocking the M45 with 90s raves, with over 18 years in Ibiza including Space residency, Lawler is back in his home town. DJ dream team and DMC champions the Scratch Perverts will shock with their award winning turbo-charged turn-tablist skills and 11 years experience including residency at Fabric and are now set to funk-up Custard Factory fans with their creative passion for bass.

Eclectricity don’t stick to genres – they bend them, and with a heavyweight selection of headline acts, including live acts The Count and Sinden, festival spirit is coming early to revellers in Birmingham.

We’ve even bigger international stars on the bill each month and shed load of show stopping production our resident club night Twisted Disco is back and set to take the roof off (quite literally)!”
- Gemma Ross (Operations Director) Pacha, London

Well well well, what can we say! After such an amazing public response and a roadblocked farewell party The Twisted Disco is back and this time we’re not taking any prisoners! Over the next few months we will be progressively fine tuning and turbo charging the Twisted brand so look out for many exciting new changes first of which is our new superior music policy to fit London’s No.1 Club soundsystem so without further a do let me introduce to you the man they call Jerome Syndeham….

Jerome Sydenham is one of the hottest tickets in the world of house and techno music in 2008. Born in Nigeria to Jamaican and English parents, raised and schooled in England and then educated further by the streets and clubs of New York, his first major forays into dance music came when he worked in the A&R division of Atlantic Records in the late `80s, working with the likes of En Vogue, Das EFX, and breaking vocal house group Ten City. Soon after he met emerging producer Kerri Chandler – one of his closest friends and a former collaborator, and his name as a producer and DJ gradually built over the `90s, with his superb label Ibadan Records launched in 1995.

He is best known for beautiful, emotive, sunkissed deep house tracks like `Swimming Places’, and his timeless collaboration with Dennis Ferrer `Sandcastles’, both on leading house imprint Defected. However he also shares Ferrer’s love for hypnotic, soulful, sexy techno – bringing an undeniable warmth to an often emotionally cold genre of music. His collaborations with Get Physical’s Swedish talent Tiger Stripes like the hugely acclaimed `Elevation’ and their joyous remix of Faze Action’s classic `In The Trees’ should likewise be added to the cannon of great house music history.

His DJ sets are nothing short of phenomenal – veering from deep, intricate, chugging techno, to jackin’ tech house, into huge anthemic house moments in the classic vein. The people behind Twisted Disco witnessed him take the legendary Panoramabar in Berlin to pieces for secretsundaze’s party there in February – and were inspired to invite him over to London to test out Pacha’s thumping new Martin Audio soundsystem and to show the capital that the spirit of real house music is alive and kicking.

In short, Sydenham sits alongside contemporaries like Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer as one of the most exciting producers in dance music today, with his tracks played by everyone from John Digweed to Francois K to Green Velvet.

Don’t miss this rare London DJ appearance – you will be blown away.

£12 Early bird tickets available from Ticketweb

On 30 April at London’s Bloomsbury Ballroom The Enemy will headline a free 1940′s inspired `Ballroom Blitz’ party to launch the biggest ever youth action scheme: vinvolved. The line up also includes Martina Topley Bird, The Rumble Strips, a dj set from Bloc Party and more, with XFM DJ and TV presenter Dave Berry hosting the proceedings.

Back in the 1940′s everyone volunteered, it was quite simply the cool thing to do. So for one night only, the beautiful Bloomsbury Ballroom will be transformed into a 1940′s dancehall, with costumes, cabaret and 1940′s covers to bring back some community spirit to celebrate the launch of vinvolved.

The new vinvolved scheme sees the launch of over 150 new volunteer projects across the country offering opportunities in areas such as music, mentoring, sport and the environment. The Ballroom Blitz party aims to raise awareness of the scheme to encourage fans to sign up, as well as saying thank you to existing volunteers.

Tickets to this unique event are completely free; anyone aged 18-25 who already volunteers or is interested in volunteering can enter a draw for free tickets by registering on the charity’s website www.vinvolved.com <http ://www.vinvolved.com> .

There are also two pairs of VIP tickets up for grabs. The VIP package includes transport, accommodation, dinner for two and a 1940′s makeover before the gig.

Headlining act The Enemy recently got involved in a volunteering project planting trees in a London housing estate with Trees for Cities: `Projects like this bring green trees to grey spaces. Just giving up a bit of our time opened our eyes to the difference volunteers can make to ordinary people’s lives. Young people get a bad press but schemes like this are challenging that negative image. Volunteering at festivals is great but there are so many other projects people should know about so we were really pleased to be asked to headline the vinvolved gig to raise awareness of the opportunities that are out there’.

The vinvolved scheme is backed by £75 million funding from v – the youth volunteering charity. Over the next three years, the scheme will encourage up to 500,000 16 – 25 year olds across England to help out in projects ranging from coaching kids football, staging music and art workshops, making films to inspire social change, online peer mentoring and environmental projects.

Wild in the Country is over 18 fun-filled hours, six stunningly decorated, marquee’d arenas and a main outdoor stage that will play host to an exciting, diverse collection of artistes. Lose yourself in the Enchanted Wood; take a ride on the Victorian Fun Fair; enjoy a surreal trip to the Twisted Tearooms; relax in the giant, chill-out tipi and discover many more surprises and delights along the way…

Pulling out all of the stops for 2008, Wild in the Country announced last month that Bjork will headline this year’s event. It will be her only UK festival appearance in the whole of 2008. Now, Wild in the Country proudly releases its second wave of exciting festival information.

The legendary Danny Tenaglia has confirmed his appearance at Wild in the Country. This is his first UK festival for 6 years. Also on the DJ billing is the unsurpassable Carl Craig. Richie Hawtin will be bringing his techno vibe to Knebworth for the day with his own Minus arena. And Soulwax will be headlining their very own tent. Festival veterans Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz of Faithless will also be teaming up for a rare joint DJ set.

Hot news on the live aspect of the festival is Hercules & Love Affair; H&LA have had a brilliant year so far with their super-successful disco-infused single `Blind’ and their self-titled long-player. While everyone’s favourite faux South American’s, The Cuban Brothers, will be on hand for jaunts of the Cuban kind.

Wild in the Country prides itself on being a carefully programmed event, focusing on the quality and fluidity of the acts rather than an endless realm of bands and DJs that is impossible to navigate during one festival. This ethos is carried through every aspect of the weekend, offering the best custom built facilities from quality food to fancy dress, there will even be an army of toilet attendants; toilets are never a nice issue at live events but WITC aims to keep them nicer.

Interesting food is a huge part of the great festival experience, no longer will a tasteless burger and a cheap fizzy drink satisfy today’s festival goer. WITC will provide quality, variety and locally produced meals and snacks from a range of colourful and beautifully put together multi-cultural food stalls. You will be amazed at the cuisine produced in a field! There is also an extensive market filled with quirky all-weather stalls perfect for any festival oddities and eventuality.
