Moguai Interview

Tags: , , , , ,

Hello Moguai. Where are you and what are you currently up to?
I am sitting in rainy Recklinghausen and producing my album!

You recently joined forces with Paula Ferraro to make the track ‘The M Effect’ which has been picked up by McDonalds and used in a new advert. Can you tell us how this all came about?
My partner knew the chief of the pr agency, who produced the campaign. They needed the sound for it, and asked me to do it. Paula Ferraro did the vocals and I did the production. That’s the entire story. Not as interesting as you thought? :-)

Many of your singles have a slightly different flavour from the last but still retain that unique Moguai stamp. What’s the secret to your success of making original…

Josh Gabriel - Eight

Tags: , , ,

Josh Gabriel went on a journey inside to explore and has ended up unleashing his own personality with “Eight”, a record that has pushed his limits. Each track is crafted to the extreme and aimed at making a dance album for purists. It’s an album that may be ahead of its time, but prepare to journey into the future with Josh Gabriel. He challenged himself to make music in new ways, approaching each song as a unique concept that fits into a larger framework - both technically and musically – a path not well traveled by most artists in this genre.

As a marked departure from his previous work, Gabriel’s solo work hones in on his darker, effusive musical house and techno side. Going deeper, the tracks have a seamless build…

Pure Pacha Mixed By Sarah Main & Gold Fish

Tags: , , , , ,

Representing the sound of Pure Pacha 2008 are the combined talents of 6th year resident Sarah Main and brand new additions to the Pure Pacha family Gold Fish. The most famous Friday night in Ibiza is now in it’s 6th year and, after turning over a new leaf this season, continues to go from strength to strength with this year’s parties shaping up to be the most diverse and hedonistic yet.

Sarah’s mix is a 16 track ride through this season’s musical must-haves that will be tearing through the Pacha soundsystem this summer. Gold Fish meanwhile take a fresh approach to their disc, cramming it full of their own productions and remixes for a rich flavour of what the band are all about.

Sarah Main has been at the very…

Evil Nine They Live Preview

Tags: , , , , , ,

They will make you laugh, yet tremble with fear. They will make you feel that the world has come to an end. They will make you question your own sanity. They will make you thirst for blood, for the taste of flesh—or at the very least, get you to dance your ass off like a motherfucker… “They” are Evil Nine, who are back from the dead with the release of their much-anticipated new album, They Live!, due out in late October on Marine Parade.

Don’t be surprised if They Live! does for zombies what Daft Punk did for robots. With stomping electro drums, ’80s Italian horror-movie synths, dirty punk basslines, and a wanton disregard for genre rules, the infamously subversive dance/electronic duo create an unstoppable soundtrack for the new zombie revolution…

Quivver Dirty Nails and Vapour Trails

Tags: , , , , , , ,

For the past 15 years, John Graham has been at the forefront of the dance music genre. Perhaps you’ll know him better through his numerous alter ego’s including Quivver, Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof, Skanna, and Tilt, as each of these projects produced numerous hit singles and had a heavy hand in shaping the global dance music scene. Now, fresh off a recent move from his native UK to Los Angeles, Graham resurfaces on July 29 with his monstrous debut Quivver album, Dirty Nails And Vapour Trails.

While it’s true that Graham – in his many forms – has long been associated with the progressive house genre, Dirty Nails And Vapour Trails travels down many different paths. Whereas recent Beatport and Juno chart topping single “Surin” offers a classic 4/4 progressive vibe, the…
