Creamfields have announced more acts to this year’s multi award winning festival including electro pop sensation Uffie who performs Live in the Chibuku Arena, her collaborations with the likes of DJ Feadz brought her to the attention of Ed Banger Records who quickly signed her and has seen her feature on Justice’ † album, a success earned on the internet with over 17 million plays! With her new album ‘Sex Dreams & Denim Jeans’ released on Monday 14th June featuring a collaboration with Pharrell Williams we can expect big things from Uffie.

After smashing it last year, Creamfields are pleased to announce the return of the Go Dutch Arena which features a line up from some of Dutchland’s biggest exports from across the dance music spectrum including Electro House duo Bingo Players, Hardwell, Oliver Twizt, Jaimie Fanatic, Sandro Silva, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Mighty Fools, DJ Rockid, Boemklatsch, the arena will be hosted by Drum & Bass MC Dan Stezon.

Other acts just added to the line up include Cocoon regular André Galluzzi whose fans include the likes of Sven Väth & Richie Hawtin he joins the bill in the Mixmag Presents Cocoon Arena on Sunday 29th August. Another new addition is UNION, who are head honcho’s of the UK’s biggest student after-hours parties, which has become the melting pot for a new sound that is truly exciting and unique. Students and muso press have named it Crunkstep – a scene that’s about mixing what’s clever and great about underground dance music with an energy that rocks the roof off the peak time dancefloor. UNION have taken up their own monthly night at Fabric and rocked stages from Miami to Ibiza and back. Already tipped by Mixmag as ‘ones to watch’ – the futures looking exciting for these young guns and their 25th century sound and we are delighted to welcome them for their debut Creamfields performance.

Back by demand is the Soonnights & Filth Ice’d Cream Van. But don’t be deceived by its appearance as this converted Ice Cream van is a pro DJ Booth on wheels complete with its own meaty sound system! Attracting a huge gathering last year of festival goers wanting to enjoy some alfresco disco, this year they bring a line up of underground house and techno experts who will be tailoring their selections to match what will hopefully be a blazing hot weekend, line up includes Danny Savage, Luke Pompey, Chris Special, Filth & Splendour to name a few, all of whom are used to rocking clubs like Sankeys, Ministry Of Sound or their home at the Mint Club in Leeds.

Creamfields returns to Daresbury, Cheshire on August Bank Holiday weekend with a mouthwatering line up that includes the likes of David Guetta, Tiësto, Deadmau5, Leftfield, Calvin Harris, Paul van Dyk, Swedish House Mafia, Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman, Sven Väth, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Eric Prydz and more.

We are pleased to announce No.1 chart topper Calvin Harris for this years Liverpool Music Week. The self proclaimed reinventor of disco will be performing at The Liverpool 02 academy on Tuesday 10th November, tickets go on sale from Ticketline at 9am Thursday 10th September.

The Swedish House Mafia Arena was going off last year at Creamfields! How was the festival for you?
It was amazing, it was a really good experience, and I think that it is a dream come true for any DJ collective or band to be able to host their own arena, and we were privileged, so we felt that we had to step it up a bit and give Cream something back, give them something that they could really talk about and really enjoy. So we gave it our all and had a blast and this year we’ll step it up another notch and see how it goes.

After all the confetti canons & dancers last year, what can we expect this year?
I think we’re going to go even better and stronger, we’re going to step it up and take it to the next level.

What will be in your rider this year?
A lot of alcohol.

You had your own party area in the arena with all of your friends, was it good to have them all with you?
I’m DJing with Sebastian and Axwell all the time, and it’s the best thing as we grew up together, but we don’t spend much time together, I’m living in LA, & in Ibiza & I don’t get to see the guys that much now, so every time we get together we always give the party a go.

Your new single ‘Leave The World Behind’ is out soon, did you enjoying working with Ingrosso, Axwell & Luke and do you ever have any disagreements in the studio?
Me and Seb have been working together for 10 years, it’s like I’m working alone, but I have someone next to me, it’s so natural, it feels right. Seb is probably the only one that I have worked with so far that I feel comfortable with. We’re always working to the same aim and always going in the same direction with the music

Which one do you enjoy the most, Dj’ing or Producing?
I like them both, the best thing about producing is that you can actually finish a track then go straight to the airport, jump on a plane, go to a gig and you play it, you can get instant feedback on anything that you do.

So how does it feel when you hear another DJ play your track?
I like it, it’s a really good feeling. Production is not about selling records it’s about putting your emotions into a track and working really hard, and obviously with anything creative, if you do something and people really like it it’s always a really good adrenalin kick.

What do you see as your main strengths as a producer?
I try to treat everything very differently, I try to move on from one track to another, and make a different sound and go somewhere else, because I get bored really really quickly.

Do you take influence from your background with your Greek & Swedish nationality?
I mean, I get a lot of influences from travelling and life, when I stay in Brazil for 2 weeks and then get back in the studio, my tracks have a very Brazilian sound, I just try to embrace everything as I see it, and try to be inspired by everything around me all the time. If I’m in a really bad mood and I’m driving to grey, old, boring Germany, I will probably make techno music, it’s probably going to sound minimal, and if I’m in the sun its going to sound of happiness.

You are very predominant in the media for a DJ, what’s the key to getting noticed and why do you think you are so widely recognised?
We’re kind of media friendly, we don’t have anything against the media, I think that its a great tool to promote stuff. And today with the internet, Facebook, MySpace and Twitters, I think that its very important. If you are friendly and like to do media then of course it will help your career. I don’t mind doing interviews at 3am in the morning, I’ve finished my set, ‘do you want to do an interview’ sure I’m up for it.

What do you think of the superstar DJ phenomenon?
It’s huge, I did a tour with Sebastian [Ingrosso] in January and we played for 300,000 people in 7 days in Australia. It’s got so big now its like the new wave rock stars, we’re doing today what the rock stars were doing 20 years ago, I can go and play an arena for 50,000 people. I think the new kids try to find themselves, and dance music is so accessible, it’s easier to get hooked on a DJ than get hooked on a band. You can’t go online buy & download a bands live show, DJ’s are very internet based.

Definitely, as a collective you use a lot of video coverage.

Yeah, we all have our own channels on youtube. I’m not only thinking about myself, I’m trying to make every single person who likes me and is a fan of me a part of my life and my career, cause it’s thanks to my fans that I am where I am today, because otherwise I wouldn’t be here. You have to give something back instead of just saying ‘F*** off, just come to my gigs’, it’s not that easy, especially with the economy crisis right now. If you want to keep the kids buying the tickets and coming to the gigs then you have to give them something for their money. I just started to release music for free now, I’ve spent so much money into producing and promoting every release I just want people to go online and say ‘here you go, this is for free, have fun!’ At the end of the day, the more people who hear your music the more places you’re going to play.

You travel all around the world, what advise can you give the Creamfields punters to keep up their energy for the entire weekend?
It’s going to be like New Years Eve x2, I’ve seen this year’s line up and it’s going to be a really really good festival. Creamfields picked the best DJs, the best Tents, it’s going to be a really big party. So instead of going out the weekend before, why don’t you save your money and come to Creamfields for 2 days.

You were recently in the papers for when Paris Hilton asked you to play hip hop, what really happened that night?
Well, she’s a ****, and most people know that already, she walked up to me and was like ‘I’m Paris Hilton, do whatever I tell you to.” and I told her to f*** off, then her boyfriend got involved and tried to slap my tour manager, so I just freaked and flipped out.

So you won’t be DJing at any of her parties soon?
No, of course not.

You will be taking over Brixton Academy on the 7th November, what can we expect from the show?
We will be working on the Swedish House Mafia Show during our residency at Pacha all summer so will be close to perfection by the Brixton show. So expect another NYE if not bigger :)

Will you have any surprise guests joining you?
We have some surprises up our sleeves

What is the best thing about playing a festival for you?
It’s such a great atmosphere, people have been out all day, they’ve been looking forward to it all year, there’s so much energy and love in the arena it’s ridiculous, last year when we finished off, I almost wanted to start crying because you never want to stop. The adrenalin, the feeling, you’re with your friends, you have such a great crowd, so many good people in there. They just want to keep on going, and if it was me I would carry on for another 10 hours, they put in so much effort into coming to the festivals, and it’s something that I really appreciate. That’s memories for us, and something that we will never forget.

Who would be on your dream festival line up?
It would be the Swedish House Mafia!

What are your festival essentials?
A lot of sleep, drink a lot of water and drink a lot of alcohol.

Finally, could you give us a quote on Creamfields?
Creamfields is definitely the best festival in the UK!

We are excited to reveal full details about the unstoppable Luciano who has chosen Creamfields to make his UK debut for his ‘Luciano Presents Æther’ Live project. Chilean born and Switzerland based Luciano is an accomplished musician in his own right, having conquered dancefloors over the last 15 years with his own unique sound. This year he unveils his exciting new project set to blow your senses and your mind.

Synchronising sound and colour to create a conceptual and groundbreaking show this highly anticipated performance is set to change your understanding of music forever. Now here’s for the science bit, Luciano is the conductor, orchestrating 5 musicians from the Cadenza label: Reboot, Mirko Loko, Gregrory Poncet, LVD and Laurent.
Commenting on the project Luciano said: “It’s all about dance music and club music and the evolution of it! It’s very tribal and there’s a lot of space for jamming … There are musicians on stage and new sounds but it’s all about dance music. Im so excited to launch my Ǽther live concept in the UK at such a wonderful festival as Creamfields”.

Soon you will be back in Ibiza as Resident at Cream @ Amnesia, any new surprises for this summer?
Well, I have my big ‘Best Of’ package, which has just been released with a lot of remixes of some of the classics that will be played. Ibiza is always full of surprises and is always very energetic and very banging and I’m looking forward to it.

You’re performing for Cream…

Soon you will be back in Ibiza as Resident at Cream @ Amnesia, any new surprises for this summer?
Well, I have my big ‘Best Of’ package, which has just been released with a lot of remixes of some of the classics that will be played. Ibiza is always full of surprises and is always very energetic and very banging and I’m looking forward to it.

You’re performing for Cream @ Amnesia in the main room, which is the most famous dancefloor on the island, why do you think this is? Eg. Is it a combination of music / layout / décor / production / atmosphere etc?
I think that the special thing about Ibiza and even more so about Cream at Amnesia is the fact that people from all different cultural backgrounds come together and have a good time and it doesn’t matter what God you believe in, or what citizenship you have, people are equal, and you have to be tolerant and respectful. It is something that is a very unique thing, having all these people from different places together in one room having a good time.

You’ve been exclusive resident for Cream @ Amnesia for a number of years now, and formed a unique and hugely successful partnership with the clubbing brand? Why do you think it works so well?
Well, as much as I don’t like to see myself as a brand so much, Cream and myself work so well together as first of all, everybody who works at Cream is extremely professional and that leads very often to a successful partnership, and we both appeal to an international crowd, Cream has a following that is global and world wide and I have that too, so when these worlds come together it is even more exciting.

Do you think the vibe of Ibiza has changed over the years?
I’m sure it has, but I have to say I don’t know much about it funny enough, even though I go there every year quite a few times, I’m flying in on Thursday for Cream and I’m flying out Friday morning. So I wouldn’t know so much if the general vibe has changed, all I can say is that the parties on Thursday night are as exciting as they have been!

What’s your favourite track at the moment?
My favourite track of the moment is called ‘Drops of Equator’ by Filo & Perry

What ‘ultimate’ track do you always ensure you carry with you which is guaranteed to make the crowd go off?
Well obviously, whenever I play Fallen Angel, that’s always a sure shot, but one thing in the bag when I’m playing in Ibiza is a track called ‘Dreaming’ I think it is by Ruff Driverz, it has this little Spanish line, and a little Spanish guitar in there but is quite banging too, it always works.

As the Ibiza crowd is so international and eclectic, do you change your sound?
It’s a big holiday destination, and people want to have a good time, so to some extent playing there you can fill the set with some of the big Ibiza classics, for example ‘Greece 2000’. Everybody loves it and when you play it in Ibiza, everyone goes wild, but I wouldn’t necessarily play it in my regular set because, it is a classic and it doesn’t fit, but in Ibiza it will work.

There’s so much technology out there at the moment for DJ’s, what technology do you use when you DJ at Cream? Do you miss Vinyl?
I don’t miss vinyl and I don’t use CDJ’s, I have 2 computer systems with me. One is full with all my material the other one has a lot of software synthesizers installed and I have mini keyboards with me, where I can play a lot of things live, I have a mini controller & I have a custom made mixer.

Does this mean that each set is live and every time that you do them something new is going to happen?
Exactly, for example I could play your favourite track, but it could sound completely different as I would play a different base line, additional hooks to it and different drums, so it would sound so much more intense and fit perfectly into the moment when I play it in my set.

What is the best part about playing the Ibiza season with Cream?
It’s just extremely exciting, a lot of fun and very energetic. It is something that I enjoy, because I am a raver in my head, so if I wasn’t on that side of the mixer I would be down there jumping up and down too, and that’s great.

Last year you celebrated Creamfields 10th Anniversary in style, packing out the Cream Arena, how was the party for you?
It was great, it’s probably the longest on going pure dance festival in the UK.

Will you be bringing us some new tracks off the album during your set?
Absolutely, but I’m also writing music right now for my next album that comes out in 2010, so I will probably play something new as well.

Do you trial your music, before it goes on the album, to see how people react to different tracks?
As I explained before my set up is very interactive, so it’s not that I’m trying whole tracks, but elements of them, like playing a hook line and seeing how the crowd reacts to it live, changing it, building it up and then taking it back to the studio and producing it.

What advice would you give any budding DJ entering the scene at the moment?
Believe in your dreams and do what you like.

You’re one of the few DJ’s who has remained at the top of his game for the last 15 years, what’s the secret of your success?
Well, 2 things. First of all I don’t have any fake image, the person you see and the person you talk to, that is me and the other thing is that on one hand I have a very clear idea about my sound and the music that I like to play but I’m not a snobby arsed DJ, I’m always interacting with the crowd, seeing what’s going on and reacting to it.

Do you go clubbing much socially?
Well, not right now, it’s rather hectic and when I’m home and hanging out with friends, we go and have a beer or eat something.

What 3 acts would sum up your ultimate festival line up? Dead or alive?
Carl Cox, Sasha & I would love to see Shades of Rhythm.

Slightly off the subject, I believe your into horses? Could you tell us about this?
Well it’s more a thing that my wife does very well, she’s an amazing corsage rider and she’s training and doing the most amazing things. Obviously with my life I’m pretty much in the music industry, I know a lot of people there, so pretty much there’s just a few people outside of the music industry, because it is so hectic and so busy, that I know. So through the horse world I have met a lot of very cool people.

So you get a break from talking about music the whole time?
What I really enjoy about it is my wife and the horses, I’m just there, just being ‘normal’.

As we gear up to the festival season, Creamfields have unveiled their new look website www.creamfields.com. The website will feature exclusive news, interviews, competitions and video content as well as featuring links to each of their international festivals, which are soon to be announced.
Having celebrated its 10th anniversary last summer and becoming one of the major highlights of the festival calendar, the UK’s original dance festival returns to the idyllic Cheshire countryside on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th August Bank Holiday weekend, following the overwhelming success last year, the festival will return as a 2 day camping festival.

The legendary northern fest is responding to the current financial climate and have put together a credit crunching limited ticket offer. Joining forces with clubbing bible Mixmag, the first 5000 tickets on sale will be sold at a reasonable £100 for all camping and weekend tickets, coming in £20 cheaper than any of its competitors. And it doesn’t stop there, day tickets have been frozen at 08 prices and hospitality tickets have dropped as much as £25.

Whilst the country is gripped in a recession, Creamfields are offering their loyal and longstanding fans the chance to grab themselves a cheaper ticket. With some other festivals having increased their ticket price this year, this is a bold and welcome move from market leaders Creamfields.

Creamfields CEO James Barton says: “We’re in the midst of a recession with most people having to tighten their belts, so we’ve made the first 5000 tickets as cheap as we possibly can. I hope this goes a little way to easing the cash burden for the people who have been there for us through thick and thin. On a first come first serve basis, it will be our most dedicated fans who will benefit.

Tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 3rd April, however, all Mixmag readers can get first bite of the cherry from Monday 30th March, when festival goers can pre-order tickets 5 days before anyone else! Simply go to www.mixmag.net now to take advantage of this exclusive offer.

This year Creamfields celebrated its tenth anniversary by putting together a sterling line up that saw 65,000 clubbers across 2 days come and experience the ultimate in world class electronic music!

Creamfields now takes its first steps into the next decade by inviting everyone to create their very own fantasy festival line up, which will then be used to assist in the creation of the final line up for the Creamfields bank holiday weekend in 2009.

Since 1998, the festival has thrived on delivering the best world class talent, whether they are ground breaking artists/DJs/MCs or legends within their own rights. With names such as Run DMC, The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Prodigy, Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada, Kasabian, Faithless, Chic, Massive Attack, Underworld, Daft Punk, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto all gracing the festivals fields it is no wonder that people travel from all around the world to experience the festival.

To stay at the forefront of the electronic music scene Creamfields understands the importance of delivering exactly what the customers want and with that in mind, has created a process that allows the Creamfields disciples a chance to sit in the Directors chair and decide exactly what DJ will be spinning the decks in the Cream Arena, and what performers will be shouting over the mic “Creamfields 2009, make some noise”.

The survey takes you through each stage of the festival, from the headline slot on the Main Stage to the warm up DJ in the House Arena, and every single entry will be studied by the team that produce the penultimate billing that will be seen splashed across every poster, flyer & booklet.

It not only gives the fans a chance to speak up and get involved but in the process they are in with the chance of winning a money can’t buy prize, by means of a thank you for your time.

The prize includes:-

•	2 VIP camping tickets to Creamfields 2009
•	A selection of Cream’s compilation back catalogue
•	Signed merchandise from an array of artistes
•	Creamfields Goodybag of merchandise
•	An invite to the Creamfields launch party
•	A pair of tickets to each of Cream’s shows held at Nation in 2009

To create your own Creamfields line up and be in with the chance of winning the money can’t buy prize visit – www.mycreamfields.com

The survey will close on the 12th December 2008.

Creamfields innovative 10th anniversary festival brought an incredible 2 days of entertainment to the North-West countryside at the weekend generating fantastic feedback as the world’s best dance festival promoters paved the way for the next decade of dance music festivals.

Introducing camping for the first time, 85% of revellers snapped up the chance to stay over and the brand new boutique campsites proved a success as they completely sold out with the festival attracting 35,000 to the show on Saturday and 30,000 on Sunday.

Kasabian’s highly anticipated headline set on Sunday night saw the band fuse rock and dance like never before, kicking off with a cover of dance anthem ‘Your Love’ and leading a field of 15,000 revellers in a singalong to their hit ‘Cutt Off’ for an unforgettable Creamfields moment.

Fatboy Slim rocked the fields on Saturday night with his headline set on the main stage, playing a mix of house and big-beat techno as glow sticks waved far into the distance and the crowd swirled in mass appreciation for one of the world’s greatest superstar DJ’s.

Other storming sets came from Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto to name just a few iconic beat masters who took to the decks on the main arenas. Ian Brown who performed Live in the Radio 1 / Chibuku arena took the roof off with electrifying performances of Waterfall and I Am The Resurrection.

The hospitality arena was another popular hang-out this weekend with award winning restaurant Puschka providing quality food with top DJ’s lining up to take to the decks.

James Barton, Cream Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are really happy with the success of the festival this weekend. There were some delays getting customers into the campsite early on Saturday morning, but this was soon sorted out. We’ve had a really good festival, with a fantastic line up of acts and great audience which has made this our 10th Anniversary very special. And we’d like to thank everyone who came to the show.”

Creamfields introduced more live bands then ever this year, and this diversity reached out to festival goers but the dance acts were as popular as ever, filling the 10,000 capacity Cream arena along with others like Ape, Tidy, Annie Mac, Bugged Out and Chibuku every night with a genre of dance music to suit every euphoric reveller.

Crime was at an all time low with only 7 reported incidents of theft from the campsite, with customers taking advantage of the Lockerbox service onsite. Creamfields festival-goers are described as one of the happiest festival crowds on earth and this year was no exception, roll on 2009!
