Over the course of a decade and more than 100 releases, VANDIT Records has become a landmark imprint.

This summer, that milestone will be aptly celebrated with the 3 CD release, ’10 Years of VANDIT’. Mixed by Paul van Dyk – both the label’s original mastermind and prime mover – it will document the tracks that have helped make the label a part of trance music’s bedrock. The discs will cover the label’s most influential output from 2000 to 2010, with the latter featuring a new Paul van Dyk single, created specifically to mark the anniversary.

VANDIT are also looking to EDM fans themselves to choose their own highlights. In April they will launch a special online event where label devotees can select their top 10 all-time favourites from the catalogue, these will then be compiled into a consummate ’10 Years Of…’ Top 10 chart. Every voter has the chance to preview the new PvD single at this very early stage and one lucky participant will also win a highly desirable (and completely unique) VANDIT competition prize.

These events will beat the drum for what will be a VANDIT-dominated spring & summer clubbing season; a series of electrifying parties that will roll out across mainland Europe, the Balearics & the US. In March, Paul kicked off the celebrations with a pair of 10 Years events at the Miami Winter Music Conference. On the 26th and 27th of March he brought VANDIT’s key artists to Miami to play 2 consecutive nights at Club Space. This summer, to mark the release of the of the album itself, there will be another deuce of events with Paul playing a hometown Berlin gig on the 29th May followed by London’s Brixton Academy on 30th May. All his Cream Ibiza nights will also come under the same banner, and saving the biggest till last, he will host a colossal night at Berlin’s O2 Arena in September 2010.

Soon you will be back in Ibiza as Resident at Cream @ Amnesia, any new surprises for this summer?
Well, I have my big ‘Best Of’ package, which has just been released with a lot of remixes of some of the classics that will be played. Ibiza is always full of surprises and is always very energetic and very banging and I’m looking forward to it.

You’re performing for Cream @ Amnesia in the main room, which is the most famous dancefloor on the island, why do you think this is? Eg. Is it a combination of music / layout / décor / production / atmosphere etc?
I think that the special thing about Ibiza and even more so about Cream at Amnesia is the fact that people from all different cultural backgrounds come together and have a good time and it doesn’t matter what God you believe in, or what citizenship you have, people are equal, and you have to be tolerant and respectful. It is something that is a very unique thing, having all these people from different places together in one room having a good time.

You’ve been exclusive resident for Cream @ Amnesia for a number of years now, and formed a unique and hugely successful partnership with the clubbing brand? Why do you think it works so well?
Well, as much as I don’t like to see myself as a brand so much, Cream and myself work so well together as first of all, everybody who works at Cream is extremely professional and that leads very often to a successful partnership, and we both appeal to an international crowd, Cream has a following that is global and world wide and I have that too, so when these worlds come together it is even more exciting.

Do you think the vibe of Ibiza has changed over the years?
I’m sure it has, but I have to say I don’t know much about it funny enough, even though I go there every year quite a few times, I’m flying in on Thursday for Cream and I’m flying out Friday morning. So I wouldn’t know so much if the general vibe has changed, all I can say is that the parties on Thursday night are as exciting as they have been!

What’s your favourite track at the moment?
My favourite track of the moment is called ‘Drops of Equator’ by Filo & Perry

What ‘ultimate’ track do you always ensure you carry with you which is guaranteed to make the crowd go off?
Well obviously, whenever I play Fallen Angel, that’s always a sure shot, but one thing in the bag when I’m playing in Ibiza is a track called ‘Dreaming’ I think it is by Ruff Driverz, it has this little Spanish line, and a little Spanish guitar in there but is quite banging too, it always works.

As the Ibiza crowd is so international and eclectic, do you change your sound?
It’s a big holiday destination, and people want to have a good time, so to some extent playing there you can fill the set with some of the big Ibiza classics, for example ‘Greece 2000’. Everybody loves it and when you play it in Ibiza, everyone goes wild, but I wouldn’t necessarily play it in my regular set because, it is a classic and it doesn’t fit, but in Ibiza it will work.

There’s so much technology out there at the moment for DJ’s, what technology do you use when you DJ at Cream? Do you miss Vinyl?
I don’t miss vinyl and I don’t use CDJ’s, I have 2 computer systems with me. One is full with all my material the other one has a lot of software synthesizers installed and I have mini keyboards with me, where I can play a lot of things live, I have a mini controller & I have a custom made mixer.

Does this mean that each set is live and every time that you do them something new is going to happen?
Exactly, for example I could play your favourite track, but it could sound completely different as I would play a different base line, additional hooks to it and different drums, so it would sound so much more intense and fit perfectly into the moment when I play it in my set.

What is the best part about playing the Ibiza season with Cream?
It’s just extremely exciting, a lot of fun and very energetic. It is something that I enjoy, because I am a raver in my head, so if I wasn’t on that side of the mixer I would be down there jumping up and down too, and that’s great.

Last year you celebrated Creamfields 10th Anniversary in style, packing out the Cream Arena, how was the party for you?
It was great, it’s probably the longest on going pure dance festival in the UK.

Will you be bringing us some new tracks off the album during your set?
Absolutely, but I’m also writing music right now for my next album that comes out in 2010, so I will probably play something new as well.

Do you trial your music, before it goes on the album, to see how people react to different tracks?
As I explained before my set up is very interactive, so it’s not that I’m trying whole tracks, but elements of them, like playing a hook line and seeing how the crowd reacts to it live, changing it, building it up and then taking it back to the studio and producing it.

What advice would you give any budding DJ entering the scene at the moment?
Believe in your dreams and do what you like.

You’re one of the few DJ’s who has remained at the top of his game for the last 15 years, what’s the secret of your success?
Well, 2 things. First of all I don’t have any fake image, the person you see and the person you talk to, that is me and the other thing is that on one hand I have a very clear idea about my sound and the music that I like to play but I’m not a snobby arsed DJ, I’m always interacting with the crowd, seeing what’s going on and reacting to it.

Do you go clubbing much socially?
Well, not right now, it’s rather hectic and when I’m home and hanging out with friends, we go and have a beer or eat something.

What 3 acts would sum up your ultimate festival line up? Dead or alive?
Carl Cox, Sasha & I would love to see Shades of Rhythm.

Slightly off the subject, I believe your into horses? Could you tell us about this?
Well it’s more a thing that my wife does very well, she’s an amazing corsage rider and she’s training and doing the most amazing things. Obviously with my life I’m pretty much in the music industry, I know a lot of people there, so pretty much there’s just a few people outside of the music industry, because it is so hectic and so busy, that I know. So through the horse world I have met a lot of very cool people.

So you get a break from talking about music the whole time?
What I really enjoy about it is my wife and the horses, I’m just there, just being ‘normal’.

In 2007, over 10,000 loyal fans from around the world descended upon New York City with the sole purpose of experiencing their favorite artist in this surreal environment. This year, van Dyk and Made Event leave the friendly confines of Central Park and travel west to the famed Pier 54 for a waterside dance music extravaganza that’s never been experienced before.

For the first time ever in New York City, Paul van Dyk’s 4-hour live set is to be accompanied by a full sound system installation engineered specifically for this event by acclaimed sound design company Integral Sound. Fans in attendance at Pier 54 will enjoy Paul van Dyk’s music in its purest form and at an unmatched level of clarity.

Historically, Pier 54 was considered one of New York’s key launching spots for ocean liners and it even provided a point of origin for the Lusitania’s first voyage. To this day, Pier 54’s breathtaking original steel arch entrance greets visitors to what has become one of the city’s largest performance spaces.

Tickets for Paul van Dyk at Pier 54 are available in advance for $45 dollars per ticket from www.ticketweb.com. In the coming weeks Made Event will reveal the very special surprises and themes associated with Paul van Dyk at Pier 54. It’s something that no Paul van Dyk fan will want to miss!

Leading global clubbing super-brand Cream are proud to announce the latest Cream Ibiza mix album mixed by this year’s exclusive resident: Paul van Dyk.

Grammy-nominated artist DJ, label owner and global megastar Paul van Dyk needs little or no introduction. Dominating electronic music charts and appearing at the top of Top DJ lists the world over it is clear to see why Paul is not only resident at the best club in Ibiza but has also been drafted in to mix their brand new Cream Ibiza mix album.

With an almost endless list of awards to his name that include No.1 DJ In The World (DJ Mag Top 100 List 2005 / 2006), Man Of The Year (Mixmag Dance Music Awards), Best DJ, Best Remixer, Best Producer (Trance Awards 2007), Best Global DJ, Best Producer (Miami Winter Music Conference Awards 2006), America’s Favourite DJ (2004 / 2005 BPM Magazine Awards) and many more. Combine this with five top selling artist albums under his belt including last year’s In Between which featured collaborations with David Byrne and Jessica Sutta from Pussycat Dolls alongside a string of hit singles White Lies, Avenue, Tell Me Why, Connected / The Other Side, Nothing But You and For An Angel PvD is renowned as one of the hardest working artists in the world.

Cream Ibiza Mixed By Paul van Dyk sees Paul deliver his first mix album in over two years. Featuring a selection of upfront killers and future summer anthems, this is an album that aims to reflect Paul’s legendary DJ sets from Cream Ibiza, at Amnesia, Cream’s spiritual Ibiza home.

The album will see Paul mix the real, main room, sound of Cream Ibiza that has powered the Cream nights every summer, attracting hundreds of thousands of clubbers over the years from around the globe to sample the unique Amnesia atmosphere.

Musically the mix will take in genres from minimal and electro to house and progressive through to trance and techno but always maintaining the Paul van Dyk and Cream Ibiza DJ set vibe.

Cream founder James Barton comments:

“Paul van Dyk goes way back with Cream, not only in Ibiza but also in the UK and internationally so to have him mix an album for Cream Ibiza, one of our flagship summer events, is the culmination of a great & long relationship. Paul has constantly ignited the Cream Ibiza main room at Amnesia over the years with his epic DJ sets and hopefully this album will bring back memories of these to clubbers who have experienced this plus new fans who are yet to sample the pure energy of Cream Ibiza and Paul van Dyk”

The award winning Cream Ibiza, held weekly Thursdays at the legendary super club Amnesia, sees Cream deliver sixteen weekly parties over summer with what can only be described as a world beating line-up with Paul at the helm as their exclusive resident. Their superb line-ups and unique vibe has kept Cream firmly at the forefront of the international clubbing scene. Alongside Paul, this years Cream Ibiza events will see performances from Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell (Radio1) Dave Spoon plus five special guest performances from Above & Beyond.

Paul van Dyk will be playing at Cream, Amnesia, Ibiza on the following dates: 12th June, 19th June, 3rd July, 17th July, 31st July, 7th August, 2q1st August, 4th September and 25th September.

He is possibly the biggest Dj and dance music producer of all time and he is coming to Leeds to play an exclusive warehouse set on SATURDAY 31st MAY at VICTORIA WORKS WAREHOUSE!

Grammy nominated artist and globally acclaimed DJ and Producer Paul van Dyk continues to dominate the electronic music charts and appears at the pinnacle of every Top DJ list across the globe. His new original album In Between has been a huge global success and features collaborations with David Byrne and Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls, spawning numerous hits and uniting dancefloors the world over.

PvD is renowned as one of the worlds hardest working artists, with sold-out tours that cross each continent, headline spots at every major festival, and a hugely successful recording career. With over 3 million albums sold worldwide, van Dyk travels around the world over 16 times each year to sold out performances internationally. 2007 alone has brought us PvD remixes of Depeche Mode’s “Martyr” and Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around” and he continues to be one of the most indemand remixers on the planet.

Theres simply not enough room on this page to list all the awards he has recieved and the huge global acclaim that has been bestowed upon him! But heres a snippet of his recent awards….

Previously, PvD won four IDMAs in 2006: Best Global DJ, Best NINRG/Euro Track, Best Producer and Best Mix Compilation for The Politics fo Dancing 2. In addition, PvD was voted “America’s Favorite DJ” for 2004 and 2005 by BPM Magazine and was the big winner at the 2004 Dancestar Awards, taking home 3 awards: Best International DJ, Best Event and Best Music in a Commercial (Motorola). He also won the Mexican Oscar for his soundtrack in the film Zurdo in March 2004. Paul van Dyk was voted “Best Music Maker” by DJ Magazine, received the “Best International DJ Award” at the 1999 Music Awards in London, was named “Best International DJ” by Ministry of Sound Magazine, and Mixmag elected him as “Man of the Year”. He also won DJ Magazine world number 1 DJ for consecutive years and heres world domination shows no sign of slowing at all.

Paul van Dyk’s touring diary remains incredibly hectic with regular globetrotting stops at major venues across the globe from New York, London, Ibiza to India, China and Singapore. He plays in Ibiza at AMNESIA exclusivley for CREAM IBIZA where he is adored by thousands, regardless of musical taste. In the little time remaining between all the travel, Paul van Dyk resides in Berlin where he has his own radio show “Paul van Dyk’s VONYC Sessions” which airs weekly on Area 33 on Sirius Radio on Thursday nights at 6PM ET (and rebroadcasts Saturdays at 8PM ET and Tuesdays at Midnight ET) and Soundgarden which airs every Wednesday 2pm – 4pm (EST) on Fritz radio and over the internet (www.fritz.de).

Joining Paul in the main arena will be Giuseppe Ottaviani, who has worked with Paul for many years on his VANDIT label, and is loved throughout the trance scene.

The main room line up is completed by Steve Porter who returns to leeds after smashing Club Mission last year and playing some very special support sets to Paul the world over, including at Cream Ibiza at Amnesia.

Arena 2 will be hosted by one of the UK’s most exciting new club nights, ELECTRIK PLAYGROUND (1st friday of the month at Club Mission). GALAXY FM’s very own, Riley and Durrant will be joined by one of Paul’s favourite DJ’s Adam Sheridan, and hot up and coming producers Hauswerks.

The venue is enough of a reason to get excited in itself. This huge, refurbished warehouse has become one of the most exciting and intriguing venues to launch in the UK in 2008 and has already seen events from the likes of the Swedish House Mafia, Toolroom Knights, Federation, Dirty Disco, Monza, Azuli, 2 Many Dj’s, and Goodgreef!
